Cancellation and Refund Policy
This policy explains the standard cancellation, date-change and refund rules for excursions supplied by St. Lucia Birding & Wildlife Ambassadors. A tour page or written quotation may state a different rule for a particular booking; where it does, that specific rule will apply.
1. Guest cancellations
Refunds are calculated according to the time remaining before the scheduled tour start:
- 14 days or more: full refund of amounts paid.
- From 48 hours to 13 days: 60% refund of amounts paid.
- Less than 48 hours: no refund.
- No-show or failure to attend at the agreed time: no refund.
The stated schedule is our standard policy. Any mandatory right under applicable consumer law will continue to apply.
2. Date changes
Guests may request a change of date by contacting us as early as possible. We will accommodate a reasonable date change without an administration charge whenever possible and practicable, subject to availability.
A guest remains responsible for any specifically identified third-party cost that cannot be recovered or transferred. A request made close to the scheduled departure may need to be treated as a cancellation under section 1.
3. Cruise-ship excursions
Ship does not dock
If the guest?s booked cruise ship does not dock in Saint Lucia and the excursion cannot operate, we will issue a 60% refund of the amount paid.
Ship arrives late
If the ship arrives late, our team will adjust the itinerary and use the time remaining to provide the best reasonably possible experience. The tour fee remains unchanged.
Return buffer
The excursion will be planned to return approximately 2.5 hours before the ship?s stated all-aboard time. Guests must provide accurate ship details and follow the guide?s timing instructions.
4. Rain, storms, closures and cancellations by us
Tours normally operate in ordinary rain.
A tour may be modified, delayed, shortened, relocated or cancelled because of a major storm, unsafe trail, official closure, road or transport disruption or another serious safety issue. The operator or assigned guide will make the final safety decision.
- Where we cancel for an operational reason within our reasonable control, the guest may choose a suitable rescheduled date or a full refund.
- Where the tour cannot operate because of circumstances outside our reasonable control, the guest may choose a suitable rescheduled date or a refund of the amount paid less any specifically identified, non-recoverable third-party cost already incurred.
5. Wildlife sightings
Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Failure to see a particular bird, animal or primary target species does not qualify for a refund, repeat tour or future discount.
6. Refund method
Approved refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method where reasonably possible. The time required for the credit to appear depends on the bank, card provider or payment service involved.
7. How to cancel or request a change
Contact us by email, telephone or WhatsApp. A request takes effect when it is received and acknowledged by our team.
